The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation and Wise Owl Consulting are excited to announce the launch of their inaugural entrepreneurial development program, Ignite Schuylkill. This competition is for emerging entrepreneurs and designed to support and nurture the growth of early-stage businesses. 

A new effort to demolish blighted buildings on the 100 block of North Bower Street in Shenandoah and build housing for seniors will be awarded $500,000 from the Department of Community and Economic Development, according to Rep. Tim Twardzik (R-123) and Senator David G. Argall (R-29).

 Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce Named 2022 PACP Chamber of the Year

OPPOSED! The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce has signed on to a letter, circulated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce calling on Congress to oppose the "Inflation Reduction Act."

The U.S. Chamber is opposed to the legislation for three main reasons:
• The book minimum tax proposal
• The carried-interest tax proposal
• The drug price control proposal

Modernization of state tax code will improve PA’s competitive edge, attract new investment

Today, the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce joined the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry in applauding the General Assembly, Senator David Argall, Pennsylvania’s 29^th District; State Representative Jerry Knowles, Pennsylvania’s 124^th Legislative District; State Representative Joe Kerwin, Pennsylvania’s 125^th Legislative District; State Representative Tim Twardzik, Pennsylvania’s 123^rd Legislative District, and Governor Tom Wolf for passage of significant reforms to the Commonwealth’s tax structure, including a reduction to the state’s uncompetitive Corporate Net Income Tax rate and tax relief for small businesses.

STC Carpentry Students Build Desk

Mar Lin & Frackville (April 1, 2022)-  Students enrolled at the Schuylkill Technology Center North Campus designed and built a custom desk for Kash Filiac, a second-grade student enrolled at Saint Clair Area School District that provides more space for him to do his work and accommodate his wheelchair. Through a cooperative effort between the Outdoor Power Technology and Carpentry students as well as our talented instructors, STC answered the call with a custom desk for Kash.

"My name is Erin Boylan and I am from Scranton, Pennsylvania. On the evening of Wednesday, March 23, 2022 my family and I were traveling from Scranton to Hershey Medical Center. We decided to stop in Frackville for a bite to eat at The Black Diamond Bar and Restaurant on South Lehigh Avenue. After finishing an amazing meal, with amazing service we left to be on our way, and discovered that we had a completely flat tire. As you can imagine we were very upset, and anxious. It was now 7pm, dark, cold and raining.
