The Big Impact Group of Schuylkill County is looking for high school students in the Blue Mountain, Mahanoy, North Schuylkill, Pine Grove, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Tamaqua, and Tri-Valley area school districts to assist in their school-based mentorship program. Students will be matched with an elementary and assist throughout the duration of the school year. Helping Harvest
Helping Harvest of Berks and Schuylkill County is searching for volunteers to aid with their Mobile Markets. Volunteers are expected to arrive on location to help distribute food to our neighbors in their own vehicles. Volunteers will be setting up an assembly line to hand out various food items to our neighbors in Schuylkill County. Volunteers are also responsible to help set up and break down the line, distribute food, bend, and lift 10 lbs. The opportunity is ongoing, as they have 6 Markets throughout Schuylkill County many times throughout the month. Hillside SPCA
The Hillside SPCA is in search of volunteers to help with basic duties around the property. The volunteers would assist with dog walking or light cleaning of the cat building, along with cleaning around the property. This position allows for work from 11 AM - 3 PM daily, and weekends are also an option for scheduling. Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA
The Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA is looking for volunteers to help with daily activities of the shelter. The activities on a day-to-day basis can vary, but would mainly include the cleaning of the kennels and cat cages, cleaning up the property, and organizing their food shed. Schuylkill United Way
The Day of Caring was created by the SUW to match volunteers to service projects at our Partner Agency organizations who facilitate health and human services for free or little cost to the residents of Schuylkill County. The volunteers spend hours at the nonprofit sites, working on both indoor and outdoor projects. Projects vary from gardening to painting, depending on volunteer interest and skill set. Servants to All is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of different opportunities that assist their efforts in helping the homeless in Schuylkill County.
Drivers – Assist clients with rides to appointments and work/volunteer opportunities. Transport outreach team.
Administrative – Assist with the following: Check-in, sign in, check id, set appointments for 1st timers and computer usage
Paper work – Keep track of quantity of applications for services, periodicals, filing
Donation acceptance & recording – Give receipts, record donor info
Clothing distribution – help guests with their needs list and get clothing for them
Maintenance – Help us keep building functional and beautiful.
Mentors – Help clients follow through on their goals.
Tutors – Assist GED students, and those seeking certification.

St. Joseph Center for Special Learning
Join the St. Joseph Center for some fun in the sun! Assist SJC teachers and staff with games, crafts and activities for the students attending the SJC Summer Camp Program. Tamaqua Arts Center
The Tamaqua Arts Center is preferably looking for volunteers under the age of 18 to assist with a variety of duties for the center. Assistance is needed with their Kids Crafts events on Wednesday's from 5-6pm, Father/Daughter or Mom/Son dances, help with gallery receptions, and help for when they are part of larger events such as Rail Fest. Set up and clean up for classes and other events would also be needed. Other duties might include taking photos, refilling food and beverages, and refilling paint and art supplies for kids classes/events. Most of our volunteer opportunities will include working with and talking to the public.
