In Schuylkill County, healthcare is provided through two regional healthcare facilities that offer comprehensive healthcare services. Lehigh Valley Schuylkill Hospital in Pottsville, St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale and the future joint Geisinger and St. Lukes Hospital being built in Orwigsburg.
Lehigh Valley Schuylkill is a branch of Lehigh Valley Health Network. Lehigh Valley Schuylkill also includes: Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center, Schuylkill Health Home Health, Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing at Schuylkill Health, Schuylkill Health Center North (Frackville), Schuylkill Health Center Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Healthplex, Schuylkill Medical Center MRI Center, Schuylkill Medical Center Dental Clinic, Schuylkill Medical Center Outpatient Surgery Center, Schuylkill Medical Women's Imaging Center, Schuylkill Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center, and Schuylkill Medical Center Pathways Program.
St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale is a fully accredited, not-for-profit, hospital located in Coaldale. The hospital features 95 active physicians representing 24 medical specialties. The hospital became a member of the nationally recognized St. Luke's University in 2000 and currently provides healthcare services to more than 11,000 people annually. Services also include a home health agency and a 48-bed skilled nursing facility.
Nursing homes and personal care facilities also provide a large portion of healthcare services in Schuylkill County. There are 15 approved nursing homes in the county. Some of the larger facilities include: Manor Care, Orwigsburg Center, a Genesis Healthcare facility, Seton Manor, Schuylkill Center Genesis Healthcare, Shenandoah Senior Living Community, and Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Assisted Living facilities are also available to those residents who need help with all daily living skills. Holy Family Personal Care Home, Luther Ridge at Seider's Hill, and Providence Place Senior Living offer housing alternatives that include various levels of services depending on the needs of the resident.
