In Schuylkill County, healthcare is provided through two regional healthcare facilities that offer comprehensive healthcare services. Schuylkill Health System East Norwegian Street and South Jackson Street in Pottsville; and St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale.

Schuylkill Health is the result of a merger of two community hospitals formerly known as Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic. Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street is a 126-bed general acute care, not-for-profit Medical Center meeting the healthcare needs of the residents of Schuylkill County, PA. It is accredited by the Joint Commission. Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street is a 179-bed, general, acute care, not-for-profit, community hospital meeting the healthcare needs of the residents of Schuylkill County. It is accredited by the Joint Commission. Schuylkill Health also includes: Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center, Schuylkill Health Home Health, Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing at Schuylkill Health, Schuylkill Health Center North (Frackville), Schuylkill Health Center Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Healthplex, Schuylkill Medical Center MRI Center, Schuylkill Medical Center Dental Clinic, Schuylkill Medical Center Outpatient Surgery Center, Schuylkill Medical Women's Imaging Center, Schuylkill Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center, and Schuylkill Medical Center Pathways Program.

St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale is a fully accredited, not-for-profit, hospital located in Coaldale. The hospital features 95 active physicians representing 24 medical specialties. The hospital became a member of the nationally recognized St. Luke's University in 2000 and currently provides healthcare services to more than 11,000 people annually. Services also include a home health agency and a 48-bed skilled nursing facility.

Nursing homes and personal care facilities also provide a large portion of healthcare services in Schuylkill County. There are 15 approved nursing homes in the county. Some of the larger facilities include: Covenant Home Care, Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Manor Care, Orwigsburg Center Genesis Healthcare, Weston Senior Living Center at Pinebrook, Rest Haven, Seton Manor, Schuylkill Center Genesis Healthcare, Shenandoah Senior Living Community, and Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Assisted Living facilities are also available to those residents who need help with all daily living skills. Luther Ridge at Seider's Hill, and Providence Place Retirement Community offer housing alternatives that include various levels of services depending on the needs of the resident.
