Q: Briefly describe your business, including your products or services and the community you serve.

A: World Kinect helps businesses make smarter, more strategic decisions about their energy. We work with organizations of all sizes to manage electricity and natural gas procurement, reduce exposure to price volatility, and create more predictable energy budgets.

For many small and mid-sized businesses, navigating deregulated energy markets can feel overwhelming. That’s where we come in. We act as an expert energy partner to research, evaluate, and negotiate with trusted suppliers on behalf of our clients. By comparing rates, managing risk, and handling supplier relationships, we help businesses save time and make informed decisions about their energy strategy.

Q: What inspired you to start your business, or what led you to take on ownership or leadership of it?

A: Energy is one of the largest and most unpredictable operating expenses for many companies, yet it’s often overlooked until rates spike or contracts expire. Our organization was founded to help businesses better manage their energy, both on the supply and demand side of the meter. We believe that when businesses understand their options, they’re better positioned to grow and succeed.

Q: What makes your business unique or sets it apart from others in your industry?

A: The experience and scale of World Kinect is what sets us apart. We operate specialist energy brokerage businesses across the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. Globally, we oversee more than 219 terawatt-hours of energy across 200+ countries and territories. That global footprint provides valuable insight into energy markets, pricing trends, and risk management strategies.

At the same time, we remain deeply committed to local relationships. Our team understands regional markets and works closely with local businesses and chambers to provide personalized guidance. We combine global expertise with hands-on support.

Q: How long have you been operating, and how has your business grown or evolved over time?

A: World Kinect has been providing energy brokerage services in deregulated U.S. markets since 1995. Originally founded as OnDemand Energy in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, the company began with a strong focus on helping clients manage their electricity and natural gas needs effectively.

Over the years, we have supported thousands of clients across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions and currently serve as the exclusive Energy Consultant for the Pennsylvania Chamber Choice Energy Program.

In 2018, we joined the World Kinect family, expanding our capabilities and strengthening our energy programs. Today, we are proud to combine decades of experience with global resources, helping businesses navigate increasingly complex energy markets while maintaining a strong regional presence.

Q: What are some of the core values or principles that guide your business?

A: Integrity, transparency, and expertise are at the core of everything we do. Energy markets can be complex, but our role is to provide clarity. We prioritize clear communication, data-driven decision-making, and long-term partnerships. Our team is committed to helping businesses make informed choices that support operational stability and financial predictability.

A: We work closely with Chambers of Commerce and local business organizations to provide energy education and one-on-one consultations. By meeting directly with business owners and municipal leaders, we help them better understand their energy options and market conditions.

Our goal is to be a resource for the community by offering insight, guidance, and practical strategies that support local economic growth.
