The facility also produces various potato products, helping farmers manage off-grade produce and ensuring every potato has a purpose. Aiming for sustainability, the company partnered with a nearby landfill to utilize methane gas as an energy source for its dehydration processes. Additionally, it taps into contaminated water from abandoned coal mines, treating it for use in food processing and then returning cleaned water to local watersheds.

Keystone not only focuses on minimizing waste and enhancing sustainability but also aims to innovate in packaging. They are exploring biodegradable bags for their fresh potatoes, which break down without contaminating recycling streams. This commitment to environmentally friendly packaging complements their overall sustainability goals. As they look to the future, they emphasize the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation, ensuring that their operations not only benefit the business but also contribute positively to the environment and the community.
