Rob Jaworski, also known as "Jaws," has joined the campaign to restore the 1925 NFL championship back to the Pottsville Maroons. The legendary quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles attended a fan meet-and-greet at the Schuylkill County Historical Society on Saturday July 13, 2024, which also served as a fundraiser in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the Maroons being unfairly stripped of their title by the NFL. As a former quarterback and NFL analyst, Jaworski emphasized the importance of acknowledging and rectifying the history of the league. Fans had the opportunity to briefly chat with the sports figure while he signed memorabilia and distributed signed Pottsville Maroons posters.
The Schuylkill County Historical Society boasts an extensive collection of Pottsville Maroons memorabilia at its museum located at 305 N. Centre St., Pottsville. The museum is open to visitors Wednesday-Friday 10-4 and Saturday 10-2. Visit Schuylkill County Historical Society for more information!
