Schuylkill County, PA – The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce its IGNITE Schuylkill Youth Program has been approved as an Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) eligible program. This significant milestone allows businesses to contribute to the program while benefiting from Pennsylvania’s EITC initiative, fostering a strong connection between local enterprises and the next generation of entrepreneurs.
“Empowering high school students through entrepreneurial programs can build strong business skills, nurture innovation, and help develop a proactive mindset that will shape not only their futures but the future of their communities,” said Robert S. Carl, Jr., president & CEO, Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce.
The IGNITE Schuylkill Youth Program is dedicated to providing high school students in grades 10, 11, and 12 with essential entrepreneurial and business education, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving economy.
“EITC funding can greatly enhance the educational experience for high school students in the IGNITE program by providing them with more comprehensive learning tools, experiences, and opportunities,” said Savas Logothetides, program manager, Wise Owl Consulting.
DCED has listed the name of the program on the EITC approved list as “Student Ignite Schuylkill.”
The program offers hands-on experiences, mentorship opportunities, and practical learning that encourage innovation, critical thinking, and leadership. The program will not only prepare students for entrepreneurial success, but also encourage them to be an active participation in their communities as future leaders and change-makers.
According to the DCED website, Pennsylvania businesses can begin applying for EITC credits through DCED’s electronic single application system on its website: https://dced.pa.gov/programs/educational-improvement-tax-credit-program-eitc/
