The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is aware of numerous unscrupulous energy companies using deceiving tactics to attempt to secure both commercial and residential energy accounts.  Common techniques include telemarketing calls asking for copies of energy bills (generally your PPL Distribution monthly bill) and or information on your current energy supplier.  Please be careful!

We have seen where in attempting to procure energy accounts, these tactics have resulted in long term higher energy costs, sometimes with a temporary short-term “teaser electric price” but with variable rates that quickly escalate and with hidden costs and contract terms.  Many times this results in a contractual obligation that costs the commercial or residential account significant expense above the best market rate and terms.
