On Saturday October 7th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm we will be holding a special event at Fighter’s Heaven - “Memories of Ali at Deer Lake”. We are inviting fans who visited the Camp “back in the day” when Ali was training there to come share their personal stories, photos, and recollections. Historian Todd M. Mealy, who is working on a book about Ali’s time at the training camp, will be at Fighter’s Heaven from 9:00 to 11:30 am for the event. He is actively seeking individuals to interview and share their personal experiences. Your unique stories deserve to be heard! If you have memories, anecdotes, photographs, journal entries, newspaper articles, or insights from your visit to the training camp and would like to contribute to this project, we welcome you to attend this event.

In 1972 Muhammad Ali established this training camp, where he prepared for some of the biggest fights of his career, notably Rumble in the Jungle and Thrilla in Manila. Future heavyweight champions Larry Holmes, Tim Witherspoon and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad began their careers sparring here with Ali. He hosted many celebrities at Fighter's Heaven, including Andy Warhol, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Dick Cavett, Howard Cosell, Jim Brown, Isaac Hayes, Kris Kristofferson, and many others.
