On the latest Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce Report segment on SSPTV, Sam talks with Dr. Gregory Koons, executive director, Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29.

Dr. Koons is the chair of the Schuylkill County Broadband Task Force.

The Schuylkill County Broadband Task Force is a sub-committee of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce’s Infrastructure Committee, with the primary focus on broadband. The intent of the sub-committee is to create action steps and planning as a proactive effort so that Schuylkill County is prepared when grand funding opportunities are released. The BTF intends to examine existing infrastructure, refine the identification of unserved areas, investigate the extent of underserved locations, and develop strategies for filling those gaps. 

As we know, broadband access is essential in today’s world, and it is a key driver of economic growth, education and development. Without it, individuals and businesses alike are unable to access the full range of opportunities that the internet provides.
