Compassus – a leading national provider of hospice care, has moved to a new location in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. The new location will expand access to patients and families in Berks, Lebanon and Schuylkill counties. 

Compassus – Is a deficiency-free program that provides high-quality and compassionate hospice care to improve the quality of life for patients facing a life-limiting illness. The supportive care team, which consists of physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers, works together to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families, wherever they call home.  

This comprehensive approach to health care continues to be underutilized throughout the United States. While the United States saw 1.72 million eligible Medicare beneficiaries choose hospice care in 2020—the largest recent year-over-year increase of 6.8 percent from 2019—length of stay remains low. Twenty-five percent of beneficiaries received care for five days or less, and 50 percent received care for 18 days or less according to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) 2022 report.
