The NEPA Alliance located at 1511 Oak Street, Pittston, PA has received the 2022 Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for the goals of the Get Connected initiative. The goal was to assist small, disadvantaged businesses. The project has engaged over 200 businesses and provided vouchers, averaging $4,000, to gain free technology support. The program offered three technology paths including a Website Package, Social Media Package and E-Commerce Package, each designed to assist struggling businesses in the wake of the pandemic. The program assisted manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, professional service providers, restaurants, retailers, sports/recreational businesses and tourist-related businesses.

NADO is a Washington, DC-based membership association of regional development organizations that promotes programs and policies that strengthen local governments, communities, and economies through regional cooperation, program delivery, and comprehensive strategies. The Impact Awards program recognizes regional development organizations and their partners for improving the economic and community competitiveness of our nation’s regions and local communities. The NADO Impact Awards are presented in honor of the late Aliceann Wohlbruck who was NADO’s first executive director and served 24 years as a tireless champion for regional approaches to economic development in rural communities.
