Hawk Mountain Sanctuary's annual Benefit for Birds Spring Campaign and Online Auction will start on Thursday, May 12 and bidding will continue through Thursday, June 30. A new and improved in-person Gala kicks off the online auction on May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Folino Estate Winery in Kutztown.

Local small businesses, restaurants, and artists have gifted unique, handmade items and experiences that can be bid on virtually through Greater Giving. It is the Sanctuary’s fourth year using the platform to operate the online auction.

The gala will be an evening of mingling, delicious hors d'oeuvres, live music, and raptor encounters. In addition, a live auction will give attendees exclusive access to bid on featured items and events. “Attending is a must for those wanting to bid on experiences like a private, guided hawkwatching day and much more,” says Tammy Jandrasitz-Bodey, event coordinator.

“This year’s gala is extra special because we are re-envisioning the event, moving away from a traditional sit-down dinner to focusing more on mingling with wine and hors d'oeuvres at a new venue, and getting to know others in and around the organization,” explains President Sean Grace. “This is a conservation celebration you do not want to miss!”

Details about both the in-person gala and online auction can be found at hawkmountain.org/benefit, and the bidding page can be found there shortly before its launch on May 12. The online auction platform is intuitive and accessible to anyone with a laptop or mobile device. Hawk Mountain staff will also be available for assistance and troubleshooting during the gala.
