Schuylkill Chamber Foundation

The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation, Inc. is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization established in 2008 to further enhance the development of Schuylkill County through Leadership development, youth engagement programs and entrepreneurship.  The Chamber Foundation supports and promotes scholarships for programs that provide training and development for Schuylkill County’s business community and youth.

The following initiatives are sponsored by the Schuylkill Chamber Foundation through funding and scholarships to participants:

Schuylkill Leadership
Schuylkill Leadership was created in 1991 to identify and train individuals who are willing to share their time and skills in building a better Schuylkill County. The Schuylkill Leadership program introduces candidates to community programs and shares leadership concepts that prepare Leadership graduates for important roles in community activities.

Schuylkill Executive Leadership
Schuylkill Executive Leadership was developed in 2007 as an initiative of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. The program was designed to expand upon and/or hone the skills needed for career advancement.

Schuylkill County Youth Summit
Every school district in the county, including private schools, sent teams of high school students to the Schuylkill County Court House. The students spent the morning speaking with legislators, business leaders, educators and others learning about how things work in the county and asking hard questions. The purpose of this first and future summits is to listen to students and work with them to shape the future of Schuylkill County.

YEA! Schuylkill
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a groundbreaking and exciting yearlong after school program that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. The students will begin by identifying ideas and recognizing opportunities. They will research and develop business plans with the help of their instructor and mentors. The students will pitch their business to an Investor Panel, composed of sponsors who may choose to invest in these new businesses. The students will actually launch their business and then introduce these businesses at a Tradeshow in the spring.
