The Schuylkill Pride Award recognizes Schuylkill County
citizens who have exemplified county pride and involvement through unselfish
acts, volunteerism, positive actions and/or great ideas which benefit
county residents.
Currently under the direction of the Schuylkill Leadership Association,
this quarterly award strives to improve the attitude among Schuylkill
County citizens by publicly recognizing recipients. This worthy program,
stemming from a class project of the 1996 Schuylkill Leadership class,
helps to promote a positive image of the county for its citizens as
well as for neighboring communities.
Past award recipients include:
- A young resident who rescued two people from a burning
car
- A founder of community services and publisher of health
education material
- A retired businessman dedicated to community development,
tourism and youth
- A lifelong volunteer coach and mentor of our youth
Award Criteria
- Must be a proud citizen of Schuylkill County and live
in Schuylkill County at the time of nomination.
- Must have contributed to the improvement of Schuylkill
County through a positive action, volunteerism,
encouragement or selfless efforts.
- No age restrictions or restrictions as to race, sex,
age, religion or socio-economic background apply.
- Winners will be selected by the Schuylkill Pride Committee
in coordination with the Schuylkill Leadership Association.
- Winners will be announced by April 15th, July 15th,
October 15th and January 15th of each year.
- Winners will receive a Schuylkill Pride Award Certificate,
public recognition and media coverage.
- Winners will also be recognized at the annual Schuylkill
Leadership Alumni Dinner.
